Workshop invitation: Qualitative Methodology with Prof. Agnes Andenaes | 26–27 August 2026

Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to a two-day methodology workshop led by Prof. Agnes Andenaes (University of Oslo): From Recipe and Correctness to Curiosity, Internal Coherence and Importance.

Registration form: https://forms.gle/bqctt4jjMGduTtQc9

The workshop explores qualitative methodology through close engagement with empirical studies. Using a small selection of research articles read in advance, participants will collectively examine how researchers formulate and justify research questions, position their work theoretically, describe analytical procedures, and present findings. A central focus will be the role of analytical questions as tools for making sense of and communicating qualitative inquiry. Participants will be encouraged to reflect critically on methodological choices and consider how insights from the articles can inform their own research.

Schedule

26 August 2026 | 13:00–17:00

27 August 2026 | 09:30–13:00

Venue

Institute of Psychology CAS

Pod Vodárenskou věží 1143/4, Praha 8

Preparation

  • Participants will be asked to read two selected articles before the session.
  • Upon registration, you will receive a few questions about your current qualitative research project so that Prof. Andenaes can familiarise herself with participants' work.

Please note that attendance at both sessions is required.
